MAHA GOUDA OLY
“Sport isn't just about winning on the field of play. It shapes character.”
Meet Maha Gouda, an Olympic diver who has been passionate about sports since the age of 5. She represented Egypt in three Olympic Games and after earning her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree transitioned to working in the sports industry with roles at World Aquatics and Olympic Broadcasting Services during the Paris 2024 Olympics.
“I have been passionate about sports since the age of five and went on to represent Egypt in two Olympic Games.”
“My family has been by my side throughout my entire journey. They provided me with the opportunities to explore different sports and grow along the way. They always believe in me, and I am deeply grateful for their support.”
THE ROLE OF STORYTELLING IN SPORT
“Storytelling and representation in the media have the power to open doors and inspire meaningful change in the world of sports.
“Unfortunately, Egyptian, Arab, and African women are rarely seen working in international sports organisations. By sharing our journeys and achievements, we aim to remind the sports world of our strong presence and advocate for a future in which talent, skills and potential are recognized, regardless of borders or backgrounds.”
“Sport isn't just about winning on the field of play.
It shapes character, and as it did for me, it offered educational scholarships in the USA, career opportunities, worldwide travel, and the chance to meet incredible people from all around the world — all because of sport.”
